Howard Pyle Safety Award

The Howard Pyle Safety Award is given annually to organizations and individuals making an impact on safety in Arizona. The award was introduced in 1980 by Arizona Chapter National Safety Council in honor of the Arizona governor and National Safety Council President who died in 1987. It is presented annually at the Southwest Safety Conference.

Submitting a Nomination

Qualifications
Through efforts in the safety arena, this individual or organization has impacted safety in the workplace, roadway, or job site, enabling people to live their fullest lives, free from death and injury.

To be eligible, a nominee must be:

  • A member of the National Safety Council

Award criteria:

  • Demonstrable improvement of safety in the workplace, on the roadway, or at the job site, including but not limited to workforce impact, community engagement, company policy, etc.
  • Demonstration of commitment to safety by going “above and beyond.”
  • Years of service in the safety community.
