Benefits of Safety Management

An effective safety management system creates a structure for a positive safety culture that leads to more effective training and communication at all levels. Proactively evaluating tasks and identifying risks reduces exposure through evaluation and selection of controls. This “safety first” mindset results in fewer incidents, injuries and lost time, property damage, and lower insurance costs.

If you are a safety leader, supervisor, or manager, there are many facets to developing an effective safety management system including the following:

     – Defining roles and responsibilities at all levels

     – Characteristics of successful leaders

     – Using interviewing and consulting skills

     – How to influence and manage change

     – Managing a safety and health audit process and performance measurements

     – Problem solving and decision making

All of these topics plus others are addressed in the National Safety Council Safety Management Techniques Course. In addition, participants in the course will create a safety and health action plan that can be implemented upon return to their workplace.

A safe workplace has happier and healthier workers which results in less turnover and as a result, production is improved, product quality is higher, and profits increase. This training helps achieve these results. The Safety Management Techniques course can also be applied to earning your NSC Advanced Safety Certificate or MESHAZ Certificate.

Our next Safety Management Techniques class is November 7 – 10. More information and registration can be found here, or contact Ed Taube at 602-264-2394 or etaube@acnsc.org.
