Is the Arizona National Safety Council (ACNSC) part of the National Safety Council (NSC)?
Yes, we are a chapter of the National Safety Council.
If I’m a member of the National Safety Council, am I automatically a member of ACNSC?
Yes.
How are you different than the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)?
As a non-governmental non-profit, we provide training and consulting in OSHA standards and other workplace safety standards. OSHA is a regulatory agency of the United States Department of Labor. It ensures safe working conditions by setting and enforcing standards.
Where does your funding come from?
Safety training is our primary source of funding. Other areas include membership, sales of program materials, conferences, consulting, and contributions. All revenue goes back into the community through programs that support safety in the workplace, at home, and on the road.
Do I need to become an ACNSC member to take your training courses?
No, it is not necessary to be a member to participate. However, members receive reduced training fees and benefits such as free resources, networking opportunities, and local support. To learn more about becoming a member, visit our member page.
How do I register for a course?
Under “Training & Classes” in the main menu, select the course you wish to register for. You will see a list of course dates. When you click “Details” you will be directed to the registration page.
Do you offer virtual training?
You can find virtual classes under “Online Training” under “Training & Classes” in the main menu.
Do you provide on-site training?
You bet! Email us at customercare@acnsc.org with the name of your business, business location, approximate number of attendees, desired dates, and the type of course you’re interested in.
What if I need someone to review my company’s current safety program?
Our safety consultants can assess your company’s safety program against safety regulations and best practices, identify opportunities for improvement, and outline a path to implementing those improvements. To learn more, email us at customercare@acnsc.org.
Will I get a certificate once I complete a course?
Our first aid, CPR, flagger, defensive driving, and lift truck programs include a certificate of completion.
How do I become an instructor?
Once you complete one of our instructor certification courses, you will be certified to teach that course. Instructor courses are located under “Training & Classes” in the main menu.
How long is my instructor certification good for?
Your instructor certification is good for one year after you take the course. Renewal fees are due annually for flagger and defensive driving and every other year for first aid, CPR, and AED instructor certification.
